Staying Busy

The last few weeks have been a whirlwind for us, so I'll try to catch everyone up the best I can. As many of you know, we recently bought a house in Hendersonville. We love every single part of living here so far. Our house is very cozy and sits on about an acre, which we are so happy about- so is Max, of course! We have a wonderful view of Old Hickory lake, and Tim just stares out the back doors at it every morning to see the sun coming up over it- it gives getting up early it's own perk. Although leaving Harpeth Hills was by far the hardest part for us when we decided to move, we are adjusting great to life at Hendersonville Church of Christ, and we know that though God will bless our time and relationships there just as he did as Harpeth Hills. We have wonderful neighbors at our house here, and within our first meeting with each of them, we saw clearly that our placement here is no accident. God knows our strengths and the people living on each side of us can use Christian influences and/or companionship in their own special ways. I am very excited to actively watch God's plan unravel as we spend more time with them. So, why so busy? Well, this house is incredible but was a little outdated. We have done everything from painting- even kitchen cabinets came down to get 3 coats of paint (3 coats- what does that tell you?)- to tiling the shower walls and hanging up chair rails. Oh yea, and we are still in the process of taking the den down to the frame and completely redoing it due to a lovely mold issue we discovered. It has been so much work and is really taking its toll on us. We planned on getting in and doing it slowly, but we are slight overachievers about it all, I guess. On top of that, Tim had to go to Atlanta on business last week and they put him up in the Four Seasons, so, yea, we went along. He never travels at all for business, so it was nice to tag along for this rare opportunity and get a free hotel room out of the deal. After that, Easter hit us, and it just hasn't slowed down. Oh, and did I mention McClain got sick this week, too? But, it will all slow down soon, and we just sit back and enjoy it all together. Here's some pics of the Georgia Aquarium and McClain doing Easter stuff. It was so much fun watching him hunt for eggs this year- he loved it! Enjoy...

First Haircut

Well, my baby turned 18 months today, and he was well overdue for a haircut. The picture of him in his car seat was a before shot on the way there- the curls were pretty out of control. So, we went to the Hometown Barber Shop (yes, that's it's real name), and chopped the sweet, beautiful locks. Of course, they came off in the form of perfect little curls. He did great at first. He thought the big racecar apron they put on him was pretty cool. But, as soon as they fired up the noisy buzzer, he lost it. And yes, cried the entire time until they turned it off. Then he yelled, "All Done!" and finally began to smile again. The lemonade flavored sucker helped a little too. Needless to say, he looks like a little man now. But, as all you mothers know, and Tim kindly reassured me of, he will always be my baby...
