A few more from Atlanta...

Atlanta

This past week, we went to Atlanta for a couple of days with David, Chris Anne, and Campbell Sciortino. Tim had received some free tickets from work behind home plate for a Braves game, so we made a quick trip there for that. The next day, we went to the Georgia Aquarium before we headed home. David got us into the Marriott Marquis (a four-star hotel) for a really cheap price since it was a weeknight, so that was alot of fun too. I will post more pictures when Chris sends them to me, but here a few that I was able to take.

Mom and Dad's

Many of you have been asking alot about how my parents' new house is coming along...well, finally, after way too long, it is finally done. They officially moved in today. McClain and I went over there to help them get some of the small stuff moved in, and I was able to get a few pictures. It is an incredible house. They built in Kingston Springs (out past Bellevue for those of you who don't know), and they have a lot of acreage and a beautiful view. We had a lot of land at the house I grew up in (in Murfreesboro), but after the tornado of 2003 ripped it apart, my mom was never the same in that house. She was just always scared any time it stormed at all. They decided to move and bought a house in a subdivision, and Dad's been going nuts with that. I think they will be both be very happy here, though. They've got plenty of land, so my Dad's happy, and it's the type of house my Mom's always wanted. And it doesn't sit high up on top of a mountain like the tornado-prone house in the 'Boro did. I know the grandkids will love it too!

Plastic Surgeon

Thanks to all of you who have been checking in with me regarding the plastic surgeon visit. I went today for a consult, and he believes that he can remove all the abnormal cells and make my ear look as good as new. My appt. is scheduled for August 21st. He says he can do it with a local anesthetic, and it should be pretty easy. As always, here's a few pics of McClain to finish off the post...

Just So You Know...

I know it's not like me to post two days in a row, but I thought I would let you in on some information I recently received. About a month or so ago, Tim noticed a mole on my ear that had never been there before. I went to the doctor, they removed it, and the test results for it showed that it was abnormal. In moles, this means the mole was very likely on its way to cancer, from what the doctor said. So I was then sent to a dermatologist b/c not all the cells were taken and they want to make sure they get them all, but since it is in such a weird spot, the scarring could be bad when they have to take more of it. The dermatologist feared he could not even take off more without bad scarring, so he is sending me to a plastic surgeon next Thursday. Anways, I say all that to say this- my dermatologist told me that we all need to be going to in once a year and getting all of our moles checked. I hadn't heard this until recently, but he agreed, and in fact, he gave me a check-up there and actually found one on my leg that looked suspicious and took it too. I am thankful that my possibly pre-cancerous mole was in a place Tim could notice. If it had not been, it could have been bad. So the check-ups at the dermatologist may not be a bad idea. Just thought I'd pass that info along. And since it's unlike me to have a post with more words than pictures of my sweet boy, here's a few from today...And for those of you know my husband well, check out McClain's eyebrows in that first pic- little Tim Bewley.

VBS

This has been a very busy week for us around here. Tim has been doing a lot of work trying to get our den all fixed up. We hope to have Thanksgiving here this year with his whole family, and we really need to be able to use that space since it will be a playroom for the kids when it is done. For the most recent task Tim undertook, we allowed McClain to give him a hand. He helped him paint the stand that the hot water heater will be moved to. He loved helping, just as we knew he would. Hopefully we can find another job soon that he can be involved in- maybe hanging up insulation or sawing some 2x4's...just kidding Mom and Ronda- we know better (I do, at least). Other than this, we have spent alot of time at church helping out with VBS. It finally ended tonight, and it turned out to be a huge success. They even had some animals there for a petting zoo one night, and McClain loved that. Oh yea, and McClain got a new baseball glove that he loves. He carries that thing everywhere...we're okay with that. Anyways, hopefully, things will start to slow down a little now!

So Silly

I have decided that my son has to be the most silly little boy out there. He is always doing, and saying, crazy things that are hilarious. I know his daddy can be pretty funny sometimes, but everything he does is original McClain. And he keeps us laughing all the time...what a blessing. And in case you ever wondered why so many of our pictures are taken on the bed, it's his favorite place to be. On our bed he gets catapulted and flipped through the air, thrown like a football onto the pillows, and tickled, of course, till he's red in the face. And he loves every minute of it.
